Sydney, 5 November 2013 – In the leadup to the analog TV shut-down in Sydney (3 December) and Melbourne (10 December), Panasonic has launched a ‘digital switchover’ campaign to help customers find the best upgrade solution.

Customers can visit the website or call Panasonic with the details of their current TV or Recorder models to receive free advice on how to transition to digital TV.

For customers that don’t want to purchase a new television, Panasonic offers a range of advanced Recorders that add digital reception to older analog TV sets.

Chasnyn Ousmand, Product Marketing Manager, AV, Panasonic Australia, said: “The upcoming digital switchover in Sydney and Melbourne gives residents in those cities the perfect opportunity to reboot their TV watching experience. To complement the clearer picture and additional channels afforded by the digital TV signal, Panasonic’s products give customers the ability to pause live TV, use apps like Facebook, YouTube and Skype1, and record favourite shows both in and out of the home.”

The built-in hard drive on Panasonic’s Blu-ray, DVD and HDD Recorders enables customers to record TV programs as far as seven days ahead with a couple of clicks of the remote control, ensuring favourite shows are never missed. It can also be set to record programs on a daily or weekly basis. Thanks to the twin HD tuners, customers can record two programs simultaneously or watch one program while recording another. The built-in hard drive also allows for time shifting, which lets users pause, rewind and fast forward live TV.

Additional advanced functions include the VIERA Connect2 platform for streaming online services; and ‘Remote Recording’, which enables consumers to schedule recordings of their favourite TV shows via their compatible smartphone or tablet, no matter where they are in the world.3
